halfway there!

The 20 week belly shot:

In other news, school started yesterday for Thomas and today for me (I am lucky enough to have only Tuesday/Thursday classes, which means a 4 day weekend every weekend!), so we are adjusting to our new schedule. I'm just glad this is my last semester ever... hooray!

we're having a . . .

BOY! We had our big ultrasound this morning, and it looks as though we'll be having a son. The ultrasound was pretty amazing. We had a couple early on at our doctor's office, but the baby has grown so much and this time it was done at the hospital on a fancier ultrasound machine (or whatever you call it) so we could see a lot more detail than before. We got to see his heart beating, many of his organs, his spine, his arms and legs (at first his legs were bunched up, but towards the end he stretched them out and started kicking), and we also got to watch him have the hiccups. It was crazy to see how much he's moving around because I am only just beginning to be able to feel any of it. We're getting more and more excited! :)

christmas

I can't believe it's already 2010! The last year went by sooo quickly.

We had a really fun Christmas and got some amazing gifts! All but one of my siblings were in town, and we spent a lot of time hanging out and playing games with them. There were 20 people at my parents' house...I'm still not sure how everyone managed to fit! Pretty crazy.

On Christmas day itself, we got up around 6 and opened our presents to each other, and we then got ready and went to Thomas's house and opened presents there. We got very spoiled there! We got books, DVDs, gift cards, games, fleece hoodies that we LOVE, other clothes, and tons more stuff. Our most notable gifts, though, were the crib and crib mattress from Thomas's parents and the car seat from his grandparents! We're so excited about them and so grateful that there are a couple big items we can cross off our baby supply list! When we were finished there, we went to my parents' house and opened presents. With that many people, it took nearly 3 hours, I believe, but it was pretty fun. We got TONS of books for the baby, CDs, candy, etc. We went back to Thomas's for a late lunch (and a nap, though that wasn't planned), and then back to my parents' for dinner...a lot of back and forth all day! In my family, we have the big traditional Christmas dinner on Christmas Eve, and then on Christmas day, we make homemade pizza! It's a lot of fun.

We also actually got a white Christmas this year! We didn't think we were going to because there wasn't a single flake on Christmas Eve, but when we left our apartment Christmas morning, it had started snowing and it continued all day. Thomas was especially excited about that.

All in all, it was a really fun holiday, and we enjoyed spending time with both our families. Now we only have one more week of break before we have to go back to school...yuck! Guess we'll have to make the most of it.
