another trip to Atlanta

The week after Easter we had another quick trip to Atlanta. Thomas had a job interview (at SUNY Orange, as it turns out!) and he flew out of Atlanta, so we drove him down and stayed at Mark & Sarah's for a couple days while he was gone. The cousins love getting so much time together. :) We also had a very quick surprise visit with Thomas's dad, who was coincidentally at a conference in Atlanta at the same time! It was such a quick visit that I hadn't brought in my phone so I don't have any pictures of the boys bouncing off the walls in Papy's hotel room.

Easter in Atlanta

I'm super behind in blogging again, so I'm going to try to get a bunch of posts up with mainly just pictures and little writing.

We spent Easter weekend in Atlanta this year, but we did Easter baskets at home before we left. Our niece Adriana got baptized that weekend and several other family members were able to come as well, which made for a very fun holiday weekend.

Thomas got a JOB!!

We are very happy to announce that Thomas was offered and has accepted a tenure-track job teaching at SUNY Orange in Middletown, NY, starting this fall!!

Middletown is a small town (30,000 people) in the Hudson Valley, about an hour and a half from NYC (it's still considered part of the metropolitan area). We'll be moving there at the end of July. It's a little bittersweet, as we will definitely miss Knoxville and our friends here, but we are very, very excited and grateful for this opportunity. We are looking forward to starting the next phase of our lives!

Jacob's birthday!!

Jacob turned 2 on March 23rd. I know it's a cliche, but I really can't believe 2 years have passed since this sweet and contrary boy joined our family. We had a fun day celebrating him. In the morning, I took the boys to Imagination Forest, a fun play place we'd never been to before. Thomas came home early so he could be there when Jacob opened his presents after his nap. For dinner we had the Tietjens over and made homemade pizza, and we followed that up with a monkey cake for Jacob and cupcakes for the rest of us! I think Jacob had a wonderful 2nd birthday!

One of his presents was a cute little chair. I guess the shape was obvious through the wrapping paper because he inadvertently opened it when he sat on it that morning. :)

I love when they actually play together!

As usual, Carter steals the show...

He needed some help with the candles.

Happy birthday, Jacob!! We love you!
