Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was a busy day filled with lots of cooking and lots of family time. We started off the evening with dinner at my parents' house (and a very delicious dinner it was too, if I do say so myself...). Then the children put on a nativity play, which was very cute. It definitely went better than 2 years ago when Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus were all 1 1/2 and had to be entertained with things like Mr. Potato Head to keep still :) Afterwards we quickly ate some pie before heading over to Thomas's house. Jamie helped Papy pour the chocolate over the bûche (or Yule log, a traditional French Christmas dessert), set out cookies and milk for Santa and carrots for the reindeer, hung up his stocking, and had The Night Before Christmas read to him by Grammy before going to bed so Santa could come!

There were too many of us to fit at the same table, so here's table #1...
and table #2!

I'm don't remember for sure what was going on here, but some roles changed around. I think Adriana was a sheep and Thomas a donkey? Or maybe another sheep? Hard to say :)
one last pre-Christmas shot of the Christmas tree! There are a truly outrageous number of presents when so many of us are home.

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!
